Gallbladder Meridian is on duty at the period of the day from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

The period of the day from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. is the time when the Yin Qi is the most prosperous in the day, and it is also the time when the Yang Qi begins to be born. In The Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor, that "All eleven organs depend on gallbladder" means that 11 organs in the human body are dependent on the functional support of the gallbladder, so there must be enough good sleep to ensure sufficient energy for the gallbladder.


Liver meridian is on duty at the period of the day from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. 

Human thinking and action require the support of liver blood, and the metabolism of liver blood usually occurs at the period of the day from 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. As per the Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor, there is a record that the blood is returned to the liver when you fall asleep. If you fail to sleep at the period of 1 a.m. to 3 a.m, you will look tired and be prone to get liver disease.


Lung Meridian is on duty at the period of the day from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m.The lung governs respiration adjusts ascending, descending, exiting and entering of Q. When the liver updates the blood at the period of the day from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m., the fresh blood is supplied to the lungs and sent to the whole body through the action of "lung connects all vessels and governs qi".
